Walden Behavioral Care is a national leader in the treatment of eating disorders and psychiatric disorders.
Walden's success comes from its "whole health" approach, which considers every aspect of each patient's healthcare needs including:
- Medical issues
- Psychiatric issues
- Co-occurring disorders
- Behavioral treatment
- Nutrition
- The environment in which the patient is treated
Walden recognizes that one type of treatment will not fit the needs of every patient and that each patient enters treatment with different types of disorders, and at different stages of an eating disorder or psychiatric disorder.
For this reason, Walden's "continuum of care" approach adapts treatment to match the changing needs of patients as they progress toward recovery. For patients with eating disorders, Walden's continuum of care includes:
- In-patient treatment – Waltham, Mass.
- Residential treatment – Waltham, Mass.
- Partial hospitalization – at all Walden Behavioral Care locations
- Intensive out-patient – at all Walden Behavioral Care locations
Locations
Walden Behavioral Care is currently located in Waltham, Northampton, Worcester, and Braintree, Mass. An additional facility is opening soon in South Windsor, CT.

Timberline Knolls has helped thousands of women and girls seeking recovery from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and other body image and eating disorders. Eating disorder treatment experts across the nation recommend Timberline Knolls (TK) because of our holistic, spiritually nurturing approach to treatment and recovery.
At Timberline Knolls, treatment for an eating disorder goes much deeper than weight and food.
TK experts help each woman to help herself, and build strength from within. She will gain confidence as she heals by learning new skills to nurture each of the 5 core aspects of the self:
- Mind
- Body
- Spirit
- Emotions
- Family/social relationships
Recovery skills learned at TK help a woman long after she leaves our treatment center. Treatment prepares our residents to face the future with the confidence that they can confront whatever obstacles they encounter without falling back into symptoms of bulimia, anorexia, or binge eating. The friendships nurtured during residential treatment also help break through the painful isolation of eating disorders, and provide residents with a life-long support network that is cultivated by the TK Alumnae Program.
Inspiring Leadership
The staff at Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center believes that every woman with an eating disorder has the potential to live a healthy, abundant life. The hopeful vision for TK’s treatment program comes from our Medical Director and CEO, Dr. Kim Dennis, MD. Dr. Dennis is a board certified psychiatrist who is sought after for her expertise in eating disorder treatment, as well as addiction, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Dr. Dennis is a regular contributor to www.DailyStrength.org, a supportive online community.
